Based in Burns, Oregon, we are a multigenerational family operation dedicated to producing top-quality Shorthorn and Shorthorn Plus cattle that excel in both the show ring and real-world operations.

We proudly hold exclusive U.S. semen rights to Canadian-based Prospect Hill Shorthorns, giving our customers access to some of the most sought-after sires in the breed. These genetics are proven in show rings and pastures across Canada, Europe, and now the United States.

All good stories start with "Once upon a time"

Morgan and Margaret were involved in ag youth groups, lived, and worked on a purebred and commercial cattle ranch. But life happens and they each had a pause in being active as livestock producers. One will say life didn't go according to plan and the other will say selling out of the Shorthorn cattle was the only regret she ever had in life. But it gets better!

Together they decided to pool their resources to help a family member who was selling a heifer to pay for his education. And it worked! They got a heifer, created M&M Shorthorns, and the family member paid for his school! That was the easy part and it gets better!

Today, the M&M team is slowly growing their Shorthorn herd and expanding into Shorthorn Plus Club Calves. They are also creating and publishing social media content to help anyone just starting out to professionals looking for new ideas to continue a free flow of information, education and ideas for anyone involved in agriculture.

We have recently partnered with Prospect Hill Shorthorns from Alberta, Canada to bring you exclusive and limited semen sales from their popular sires: Galahad 16G, Clay 56C and DJando 31D. Having semen shipped across the nations borders is expensive. M&M Shorthorns wants to make access to triple clean and complete outcross sires easy and affordable for everyone in the United States.
